Separate sealed bid proposals will be received by the Reading Parking Authority for the Repair and Preventative
Maintenance of Eight Parking Garages for the following contracts: General Construction and Mechanical
Construction. The bidder shall indicate clearly on the sealed envelope which contract they are proposing.
The Work generally consists of structural concrete repairs, post-tensioning system repairs, various other structural
repairs, installation of waterproofing elements, and various architectural and mechanical upgrades.
Bid Documents may be obtained by contacting DESMAN via telephone at 216-736-7110 or email at
edetullio@desman.com. Bid Documents (in PDF format) will be provided to prospective bidders via a link to Google
Drive.
Bids shall be received at the office of Thomas MacDougal, Executive Director, Reading Parking Authority, 613
Franklin Street, Reading, PA 19602 no later than 2:00 pm on Wednesday, July 10, 2019. Bids will be opened publicly
and read aloud immediately following the submission deadline at 2:00 pm in the Reading Parking Authority Office
at the above address. Any person that is interested in attending the Bid Opening is invited to come to the Reading
Parking Authority Office at the above address. All bids shall be effective for sixty (60) calendar days.
A pre-bid meeting will be held on Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at 10:00 am at the at the office of Thomas MacDougal,
Executive Director, Reading Parking Authority, 613 Franklin Street, Reading, PA 19602. While not mandatory, all
prospective bidders are strongly encouraged to attend.
Bid Security in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total bid shall be submitted with each bid, in
accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. The successful Bidder will be required to provide a Payment Bond for
100% of the contract amount and a Performance Bond for 100% of the contract amount prior to starting the Work.
Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Rates are applicable and must be paid throughout the duration of this project as set
forth in the Contract Documents.
Please note that this is a re-bid of two of the four contracts in a previously advertised project.
